03:28 pm: Movie meme time!
1. What movie have you seen the most times in the theater? How many times?

I’ve never seen a movie more than twice in the theater. Prisoner of Azkaban was probably the last I saw twice, once in IMAX. I do, however, own an obscene amount of DVDs.

2. What was the last movie you walked out of in the theater?

Howard the Duck.

3. What is the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?

Bambi. I remember asking my mother, very loudly, what happened to Bambi’s mother?! And then I cried, heartbroken, until Flower showed up. It’s a wonder I ever went back to the movie theater.

4. What is your favorite movie soundtrack?

Instrumental? Amelie. General music? Valley Girl (there’s a lot of great alt music in that movie)

5. Have you ever dressed up as a movie character for Halloween? If so, who?

If it counts, I once dressed up as Dr.F for a midnight showing of RHPS on Halloween.

6. What was the first R-rated movie you ever saw? Were you allowed or did you sneak?

Fast Times at Ridgemont High – Kasey and I talked her overly permissive father into taking us. We were twelve. It was awesome.

7. Star Wars (orig. trilogy) or Lord of the Rings?

Lord of the Rings. The scenery and the writing are better. And frankly, episodes 1 -3 ruined Star Wars for me.

8. Pacino or De Niro?

Now? DeNiro, definitely. If Pacino hoo-haws one more time, I’m gonna punch him. The 70’s? It’s a close call.

9. Titanic...did it suck or was it great?

Snooze. The only part I liked was the actual sinking. Very realistic. Oh, and some of the costumes.

10. What's your take on Cassavetes?

I’m assuming you mean John. I’ve never watched anything he did, but I respect his ability to get stuff made and I think it’s great that the Spirit Awards give out a statue in his honor (to very low-budget movies, like Mean Creek.

11. Favorite John Hughes character?

Ed Rooney

12. which movie gives you a boner (or makes you tingle)?

Secretary.

13. which movie always makes you cry like the big puss you are?

Steel Magnolias

14. What's the furthest you've ever gotten in a movie theater? (i.e, second base...)

Not drive-in, right? *winks* Light petting?

15. Speaking of sports metaphors, what's your favorite sports movie?

Bull Durham

16. Favorite
(a)... teen movie?

Sixteen Candles

(b)...Quentin Tarantino movie?

Pulp Fiction

(c)...Bill Murray movie?

Stripes, tied with Rushmore.

(d)...romantic comedy?

The Philadelphia Story

(e)...gangster movie?

Goodfellas

(f)...horror movie?

I do not watch horror, so… Poltergeist (Hey, that clown doll is freaky.)

(g)...made for TV movie?

BBC Pride & Prejudice (Colin Firth)

(h)...director?

Billy Wilder, Martin Scorsese.

(i)...drug movie?

Dazed & Confused

17. Which movie have you seen already but will never, ever, ever watch again?

American Wedding. Ugh. So very very stupid.

18. which movie are you embarrassed to really like?

Fraternity Vacation.

19. which movie should be remade asap?

Star Wars 1-3, with better scripts, please.

20. What the F happened to (insert answer)? He used to be so damn funny!

Mike Meyers

21. For the love of everything that's sacred, please someone stop (insert answer) from making another movie!

Paulie Shore

22. which movie do all your friends love but you think is whatevs?

Titanic, Brokeback Mountain

23. which movie do you love but all your friends think is whatevs?

Can’t think of anything at moment…

24. If you could hump/date/marry any movie character, who would it be?

C.K. Dexter Haven

25. Best movie ever?

Some Like it Hot.

26. Book you wish would be made into a movie, and who would direct it?

My first answer is Stargirl, (Chris Weitz or Cameron Crowe) -- and it’s in development/production. *sighs* I hope they get it right.

Second: The Perks of Being a Wallflower (same directors).

Third, the Artemis Fowl books (were in production, now in turn-around?) Robert Rodriguez.

Omg, my favorite line from of yours was, "If Pacino hoo-haws one more time, I’m gonna punch him." I so agree. And I loved 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower'. I hope that someone turns it into a non-crappy movie.

It's just pure laziness on his part, so it annoys me.

non-crappy being the key hyphenate.

I like basketball, so that wasn't a hard sell.

But I loathed baseball, and BD actually made me appreciate the sport.

9. Titanic...did it suck or was it great?
I was ready to jump ship within the first 10 minutes. I just sat there and played A Night to Remember in my head. It was a heck of a lot more entertaining Titanic movie. I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to be rooting for the ship to sink...

C.K. Dexter Haven
I am sooo with you on that one!
Although for TV movies, I gotta admit that Fitzwilliam Darcy is probably the one. Although Sam Waterston as Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing launched my love of Shakespeare.

Some Like it Hot.
Excellent choice, but my heart belongs to Singin' in the Rain.

I kept thinking of The Unsinkable Molly Brown. (hee)

Cary Grant was shiznit, wasn't he?

[info]pir8fancier has a d/hr called The Politician's Wife is which Draco is very Cary Grantish.

Singin' in the Rain is my favorite musical, and second choice. I'm pleased to say I've seen both in a theater on a big screen. It's awesome and a little weird to see them that way.

Cary is one of my absolute favs! However, I have to admit that my alltime favorite movie star crush is Ronald Colman. The man's voice alone could make me melt. Colman set the stage for my current Rickman obsession and my fixation on great voices.

Colman was pretty awesome, I agree.

He was in All About Eve, wasn't he? I need to get that on DVD.

No, All About Eve was George Sanders, another incredible voice. And, yes, you do need to get that on DVD. It's wonderful. Ronald Colman was in Lost Horizon,Random Harvest, A Tale of two Cities, The Prisoner of Zenda and my personal favorite Colman is Bulldog Drummond Strikes Back.

I know I've seen Lost Horizon... Bulldog sounds good too.

I used to go on director's jags (watch all Woody Allen, etc.)

Helpful hint of the day: It's not a good idea to watch Fellini at 3 am.

Oh, I've done that! Billy Wilder, George Cukor, John Ford, Marty Scorsese. I'm just as likely to have a director's film marathon as I am an actor's marathon.

Oh, dear! I can only imagine. I shall bear that in mind in the future. I had to have a tooth surgically extracted a few years back. That's when I discovered it's best not to watch Kubrick while on heavy pain medication.

Yep, that the best reaction. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you know ahead of time that you will require heavy pain medication, do yourself a favor. Select your books and DVD's in advance while you are still reasonable and sane. Channel surfing is not a good idea under those circumstances.

Sadly enough I think I've only seen two movies more than once in the theater. Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (awsesome) and Star Wars Episode 1 (only because my cousins brought up all of the cameo's I missed the first time around because I was thinking Gah this totally sucks. The second time around, still sucked.)

Movies to be remade, POA, GOF, and to a lesser extent OOTP. Seriously have they read the books?

I have great hopes that the bbc or pbs will do miniseries of all the books about ten years from now or so.
